[Bug 595759] [NEW] bug reported trying to install E:/var/cache/apt/archives/linux-image-2.6.32-22-generic_2.6.32-22, 36-i386.deb: corrupted filesystem tarfile - corrupted package archive

Public bug reported: New Ubuntu installation (ver 10.04 LTS) ran fine. Update manager attempted to install 30+ updates and reported this error. I'm new to Linux so I'm not sure what effect this will have on my system. Sorry if the report isn't as complete as it probably should be. ProblemType:
