On a computer with Xubuntu 24.04 that has only a touch screen, it's not
possible to log in: onboard crashes as soon as it starts, making it
impossible to input the login password.
To work around that, I had to set the dconf settings for the lightdm user,

I've the same issue. It started to happen when I installed Ubuntu 22.04
I did a clean install not an upgrade. Everytime a file picker dialog opens it
freezes the browser to any inputs. I gotta close the browser and start it again

I observed after a lot of updates my kernel did not get update after
reboot. I found my /boot zfs pool not mounted properly and re-imported
it, but when I generate new grub.cfg, the 10_linux_zfs section is empty,
even with /boot mounted properlly:

I tested the kernel from comment 34 and my computer is no longer
crashing. With this kernel, it is possible to use default Xubuntu,
without changing Xorg session or xfwm4 vblank_mode.
What I noticed is that there are 1330 dmesg errors like:

I did a bisect for this bug, now it is weekend and I was able to do
tests on this computer. The bisect result is:

The crash is still present with 5.4.0-24. The attached file has syslog,
Xorg.0.log and xsession-errors.
I noticed there are two workarounds for this:
1) Set the intel Xorg session instead of modesetting;
2) Change vblank_mode parameter from xfwm4: auto or glx will trigger this
crash, xpresent or
I tested the live media with sha256sum
009c846c5596d7b4454a7b8eb7ca804a53dd7c58abf2e438da68e91018958133 and I
still observed this problem.
It's important to note that, if I run xfsettingsd after the live session
starts, it starts fine. The problem is when the live session starts

Micro is creating a log.txt file on the working directory every time it
is opened. Not only this creates an extra file, but this can cause micro
to fail to open. For example:

I just tested the Xubuntu Beta ISO and, from it, I was able to reproduce
the system crash.
Unfortunately I was unable to obtain any logs, as sshd was no longer
responsive and it was a live system.

When testing the Xubuntu Beta live media, it was observed xfsettingsd
may fail to open. The consequence of this is that the appearance of
Xubuntu is ugly. Many icons are missing and other have colors such way
they are barely visible.

This crash seems to be easy to reproduce. I made an Apitrace of the part
of Gurumin with the scene that caused the first crash and let it
replaying endlessly. After 1h30min, the system crashed again.

Thank you for investigating this. I would bisect QEMU, but wouldn't
investigate its libraries. Consequently, I would never find the cause of
this problem.
For now, I am using -monitor telnet:127.0.0.1:5,server,nowait to
have access to the monitor on QEMU guests.
