/var/log/cups/error_log
printout, which is captured data as per your request

I discovered that if I renamed the printer as per suggestions on the web, i.e.,
edited /etc/cups/printers.conf
and changed the line

this printer also produced garbage. When I reinstalled it with the
original name, this second worked ok.
