just be coincidental though. I usually am plugged into the wall, but I ran
last night for around 3 hours on battery and did not have a single
disconnect.

I have upgraded and the issue more or less persists. I have all the latest
patches for Karmic. It is better than before, but still prone to random
disconnects, and a full power cycle (not a restart) is the only way to get
reconnected to my WAP.

As others have said, simple reboot does not work. You must shut
