Same problem for me after a fresh install of Jaunty (keeping my home directory
from Intrepid).
I got no window decoration neither gnome panel on session login. New users or
guests were not affected by this problem. .xsession-errors says "Starting
gtk-window-decorator"
I tried to remove .gconf/*
Same problem with nvidia MCP51, chip ALC883 onboard.
Sound is very low on every audio output (speaker, headphones)
Syslog and dmesg output "hda_codec: Unknown model for ALC883, trying auto-probe
from BIOS..."
I tried to unload then reload kernel module snd-hda-intel with every chipset
model witho
the 20060928 daily alternate image works with GIGABYTE GA-965P-DS3 with
cdrom attached to ide and sata drive attached to jmicron (purple
connector). drives attached to ich8 are not recognized. also jmicron
sata must be set to ahci in the bios.
