Hi,
Tested with newer kernels (5.4, 5.6 and 5.11.11) and the issue remains.
Tried installing the latest intel driver but did not helped. If any
specific test is need, i am happy to help.

I'm not sure how to generate all the logs ken.rowe supplied, but my
machine is also an HP DV6000. I did not have any problem disabling the
touchpad via the hardware button under 9.10.

I'm experimenting the same on a fresh install of hardy on my acer aspire
5672 dual core, with ATI mobility radeon x1400. I've tried mplayer and
vlc with default installation and with propietary drivers (from repos),
with compiz and within, video playback is always pixelated. The same
videos on wind
Same problem here, edgy 64bits, no encarta contact.
