I wanted to add that I have the same problem too.
Additionally if I press any of the Wacom Intuos Pen and Touch buttons the
screen freezes completely and I have to restart the PC.

I had the exact same problem, random screen freezing, especially during video
playback in xbmc.
As a shot in the dark i installed caffeine to prevent the screensaver and the

I tried with ubuntu 9.10 10.4 10.10 11.04 and it works fine.
With 11.10 and above releases of ubuntu that have pre-installed
alsa-driver-1.0.24 microphone is not working.

It doesn't bother me at this time abount front and rear mic.
I only use the mic from webcamera and it doesn't work at Ubuntu 12.04.
Strange thing because in 11.04 it works fine.
I think the possibility that the alsa version makes the change but am i not
sure.

Hi, good to see the issue has been opened.
Using the r8168 realtek drivers r8168-8.023.00 with kernel 3.0.0-19-generic
used to work fine (after replacing the default r8169).
Further kernel updates do not allow compiling of the r8168-8.023.00 driver.

Yes it is on the unity launcher. Nautilus displayed that it was empty.
Nothing happens when i try to empty it, it always appear to be full.
After a reboot though it went back to normal.

Trash appears to be full but it is empty. I tried multiple times the
empty trash button but nothing happens. The last thing I deleted was
from a usb stick. I tried to empty the trash before I safe remove the
stick and after, but nothing happens, it always appear to be full.

When I am trying to play a video in youtube, in either html5 or flash
format. The gnome-settings-daemon starts to use all the CPU and the
video becomes extremely choppy. Even if I close firefox, it continues to
eat at 100% of the CPU.

When on battery hdparm keeps to spin down the hard disk very often
(every 2-3 seconds). Even after the last update to hdparm 3-4 days ago
where it is set with -S34. The only fix for me is to set hdparm-
functions with -B254 when on battery.

I you change settings in the Ubuntu Unity plugin, like the launcher
opacity and panel opacity, it keeps these settings until you restart the
computer. Then everything is at their default values again.
