Any updates on this?
I patched the 45-libmtp8.rules file. Now my 5800 shows up as mountable when in
media transfer mode (0421:0155), but it does not show up in rhythmbox/banshee.

A little update:
After having this problem again I started some tinkering:
sudo rmmod uvcvideo gspca_ov519 gspca_main vloopback videodev V4l1_compat
sudo modprobe videodev gspca_ov519 vloopback v4l1_compat uvcvideo
Now the webcam works :-)

The webcam works after a fresh boot.
But fails after resume from hibernation.
It seems it doesn't get initialized after resume :-s

I have solved this problem by running the sharpfonts script from
http://www.sharpfonts.com/ and renaming /etc/fonts/local.conf to
/etc/fonts/local.backup.conf
Now all fonts are rendered properly in firefox, openoffice, screenlets,...
My 9.10 is a clean install.
