The device on /dev/crystalhd is used to accelarate HD-video using the
Broadcom Crystal HD. The permissions on the device are too strict.

I believe I'm getting the same error. When I open a video using totem in
precise I get a crash and the login-screen/lightdm is shown. I'm sure
apport is enabled but no crash report is generated in /var/crash/. My
hardware is a AMD E350 (CPU+GPU) with an integrated Radeon HD 6300.

The radeon.new_pll=0 kernel line works on my ATI X1600 (HP nc8430
laptop). The 3d and desktop effects are not working with this trick.
Strange thing is: If I use my TFT monitor as a second screen in a dual head
setup and
don't use the kernel line, the laptop screen is ok. TFT monitor is not ok,

Well, I solved my overheating problem. I disassembled my laptop and saw
that there was dust clogged up. Afterwards not so suprising considering
my hp nc8430 is almost two yeats old.

Yes can confirm it on a hp nc8430. Laptop is getting way too hot, even
causing hard freezes after heavy cpu usage. It even seems this problem
started ocurring with the last two ubuntu releases. Before that I had
never any problems.

can choose to overwrite skip etc. etc. files before doing the wanted ftp
actions.
I seelcted multiple files and fiddled with the 'Overwrite', 'Skip' and
'Select All' buttons, d
Found in the strace log that I got a crash in glxinfo. After
reinstalling the Nvidia driver and re-setting the xorg.conf file with
the Nvidia's own installer everything was fine.

Backtrace didn't work, I've metacity-dbgsym and beryl-manager-dbgsym
packages installed. gdb says (no debugging symbols found)
The strace did work, attached a dump.
The xorg log also spitted a error:

In my case it seems that gtkpod crashed only when the ipod is plugged
in. If the ipod is ejected then gtkpod loads and after mounting it reads
the ipod. Synchronising files does not work but gtkpod shows the
available disk space on the ipod.
