This affects me too Modem Pantech UM150VW.
I'd bee happy I I could just reconnect without having to unplug and re plug the
modem.

to be one of those basic fundamental problems that would be simple to
fix. I would like to be willing to fix it myself and submit a diff
patch, But I have no idea where to look for the root of the problem.
