Hi, This problem is caused by inappropriate hardening flags.
Here is the patch to solve issue:
$ diff -ur growl-for-linux-0.8.5.orig/ growl-for-linux-0.8.5
diff -ur growl-for-linux-0.8.5.orig/debian/rules
