I do have the same problem, and also with the same chipset:

Chipset: SiS 182/965 (same as brunolabs)
I thouhgt it was my tvtunner at the beginning, but looking at the dmesg
I saw it was a problem with the SATA devices:

Same problem here, I can see the networks but I'm unable to connect, and
