It appears that the $LIB macro you may use in LD_PRELOAD (see the
manpage for ld.so if you're unfamiliar with this) doesn't take into
account the layout that Ubuntu has for its libraries.
On x86-64, 64-bit libraries are in /lib and /lib64 is a symlink to /lib
while 32-bit lib
