so where do i change the soundcard from muteing or what ever it does

hey there
there is simply no sound at all in windows after i installed ubuntu 11.04
how ever i found a fix for it :
commented out line 372 in /etc/init.d/alsa-utils:
# mute_and_zero_levels "$TARGET_CARD" || EXITSTATUS=1
in /etc/pulse/default.pa with
#load-module module-devi
this fix doesnt work for me on 11.04
there is no file named alsa-utils in /etc/init.d/
only alsa-store and alsa-restore
what to do now ?
