I don't know if it's related but I have a Geforce 250 and this also happens to me. I also manually installed the proprietary dev driver 260.24. And I also have those clicking sounds that only goes away if I mute the Sound Effect in the Sound Preferences. -- Meerkat (10.10) does not apply them
