Stuart's comments: something like this existing (still) in an LTS
release (about 15 months old) where the fix (apparently) doesn't require
any actual code changes... well, I'll just say I'd love a fix. I'd do

Using KVM, managed by libvirt using the virt-manager package, I created
a Windows XP installation on my local workstation. I use the virt-viewer

Well, I can't seem to figure out how to reproduce this bug except that
it *seems* to generally just be the state of affairs in "non-fresh"
sessions. This is as opposed to "fresh" sessions which are ones started
by logging in just after I've rebooted or otherwise just powered up the
system. Generall
