We are running Gitlab on 16.04 LTS and had this issue which was really
causing a lot of frustrations. I was waiting for the update to go
through for about a month now and decided to apply this updated version.
After applying it via proposed repository it has solved the issue for us
as well.
Public bug reported:
Using rsnapshot with the +rsync_long_args=--rsync-path="sudo rsync"
command fails with a rsync not found error. If I do a rsync only without
using rsnapshot as shown below, the command works find so it's not
related to rsync or sudo/ssh configurations.
Example:
rsync -aPe ss
