I can verify the exact same circumstances as Peter. No local variables
until I built xdebug 2.1.0RC1 from source, then all is good.

On Lucid, when trying to use SSL + IRC to connect to Freenode, no
combination of settings will ever actually use SSL. According to
Freenode's docs, they support SSL on 7000, and 7070. I've tried setting
up a new IRC server with chat.freenode.net

the SNMP backend in CUPS was disabled. The bug was resolved in
Intrepid, and it does indeed work now.
