There was an incorrect package version: grub-common:i386 installed somehow. No idea where that has come from. I removed that and installed the correct grub-common amd64 -version. After running boot-repair again, Ubuntu now loads via Grub with SecureBoot enabled, but Windows 10 has to be loaded thr

I also have a HP nc8430 T7200 running uncomfortably hot. I'm on Hardy Beta 64-bit, all updates to date installed. I also dual-boot with WinXP, there, the temps and battery life are much better. I would like to change to Linux completely, but on laptops there still is some streamlining left to do.

I know it takes a little time to count the files on the filesystem. But in this case the counting never stops, it just adds and adds the file count and size totally unrealistically.
