This bug is fixed in Maverick, but not in Lucid LTS.
Tired of waiting for a fix for the LTS, I found the patch and recompiled
libgtk2.0-0_2.20.1-0ubuntu2.
Get the sources for libgtk2.0 via "apt-get source", apply the patch available
here:

sorry - I meant @Milos (#71) and @Nevyn (#74). If there's any further
data I can provide, feel free to ask.

@Milos (#69): Try updating your BIOS to the latest version available
from ASUS. IIRC, on this netbook, WiFi toggling via Fn+F2 is now handled
in the BIOS, that's why recent kernels ignore it. This might not be
relevant to the audio jack/internal mic issue, but I'm reporting here my
BIOS version as
My lspci -vv report is exactly the same as #61 save for the IRQ line,
which shows 45 instead of 46.

stuff installed.)

I just found out that the mic won't work from a cold boot, but once I
suspend to RAM, it seems to be working fine after waking up.
Don't know if it's related, but the touchpad also acts up from a cold
boot sometimes (unstable, jumpy cursor) and this gets fixed with a
suspend-resume cycle as well.
After the kernel update to 2.6.35-23, internal mic seems to be working
OK.

FWIW, I successfully downgraded unison in a netbook running Maverick to sync it
with a home server running Lucid - simply downloading the .deb
(unison_2.27.57-2ubuntu2_i386) from the Lucid repositories and installing it in
Maverick using dpkg.
So far, it syncs without problem.

Looks like this bug made it to maverick.
It also happens when sorting by filename by clicking on the "Name" column
header as well, I didn't notice that at first.
