I would almost guarantee it is the same issue. I had the same exact
behavior that you descibed. There has not been a new release of xfconf
so unless canonical(ubuntu) cherry picked the commit to xfconf that
fixes it, it will still be broken and my bets are that they didn't. Your
only option is to r
