I can confirm this bug on the following hardware: AMD64 2800+ (Socket 754) nVidia 6600 GT (AGP) Ubuntu Version: edgy-desktop-amd64.iso (knot2) (Used as a live environment) Booting from the CD works, but no splash screen on startup or shutdown. PS: Works fine with knot1 -- does not work at all
