Samba froze during installation

I was installing some programs using the Software Center. Samba began
installing, it downloaded fine, when it came to applying changes, it
stopped completely. This is a completely fresh installation of 11.10

I don't know. When I switched to Lucid I started using Empathy, and
continued to use it when I switched to Lucid.

Changing the bandwidth usage to something other than default settings
seems to fix this bug. However, the program should work with default
settings and should be fixed as soon as possible.

I don't know if it's that the screen doesn't refresh or that the
computer actually freezes, but it only happens when I have Pidgin open.
