Steps to reproduce:
1. download and extract
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+archive/primary/+files/libunity_7.1.4+19.04.20190319.orig.tar.gz
2. get and apply patch
https://launchpadlibrarian.net/443817430/0001-Fix-FTB-with-recent-vala-requiring-non-public-abstra.patch
3. run NOCONFIGURE=1 ./autoge
Public bug reported:
make returns:
unity-protocol.vapi:242.4-242.43: warning: DBus methods are recommended to
throw at least `GLib.Error' or `GLib.DBusError, GLib.IOError'
public abstract async void set_view_type (uint
view_type) throws GLib.IOError;
Another workaround that did the job for me (on Arch Linux) was running
with `--sync`, so: `xsane --sync`

i have logitech m570 which has the same problem (approx. 1.5 yr since
purchase) - there are several utils that mitigate the problem on
windows, e. g. http://www.wincert.net/tips/hardware/2684-logitech-mouse-
double-click-issues. it would be nice to have such thing for linux as
well.

i would only like to add that gnome-shell is being extremely stable on
my arch linux installation. maybe some spurious combination of gtk
libs(?) in ubuntu is causing this.

it occurs on my computer quite often as well. ubuntu oneiric + nvidia
binary drivers. sometimes the gnome-shell restart is unsuccessful
forcing me to do "pkill -9 gnome-shell; sleep 10; DISPLAY=:0 gnome-
shell" from console. not very user (mum) friendly indeed.
