Same here on Thinkpad L420. OnScreenDisplay is shown and the slider/mute
in it reacts nicely, but it does obviously not change any actual channel
volume. I checked all available channels in xfce4-mixer, alsamixer and
pavucontrol.
Commands like 'amixer set Master 5%-' I tried to bind to the vol+/-
apt-get update produces the bug on 12.04 when started the first time

arrived), not even one.

When run from the commandline,
/usr/share/apport/apport-gpu-error-intel.py
it exits without any message, but then the known error messagebox
appears.

Yes, it is working like that!
I can leave all other options in gdm.conf untouched or change them, it is
always the same:
Gutsy`s GDM will not connect to Gutsy.
But if I change to a console, I can start the XServer manually like Gustavo
Rahal proposed and it ALWAYS works for me:

Remote Login via XDMCP is not working in
I have the same bug. Gutsy (GDM) tries to XDMCP to Gutsy. See the relevant
/var/log/syslog messages on the client side attached. The server side does not
log anything to /var/log/syslog. Changing to "simple" ("einfach" in german)
interface has no effect. BTW, I use the "fglrx" driver.
