I get the same behavior. New 8.04 install. When Gshutdown is run from a
desktop launcher, and is set to shutdown the PC, it merely logs off the
user and brings up the GDM screen. Version is 0.2. Preferences are set
to 'autodetect'.

Found it!
Being able to change menu shortcut keys is something that's been in GTK
for a while, but it looks like it's turned off by default, and the user
has to explicitly enable it.
System->Preferences->Appearance->Interface, check box 'Enable editable
menu shortcut keys'. That does the trick.

Sorry, GnuCash version is 2.2.1. This bug was also present in whatever
version I was running when I started using Ubuntu around July, 2000.

I just installed the Gutsy beta, and the problem is still there. The

New Feisty install. Asus A8N5X motherboard, CD/DVD drive reported by
Device Manager as: LITE-ON DVDRW SHW-160P6S.
When I try to play a CD with Sound Juicer, the disk tracks are
identified correctly but instead of music I get rhythmic noise. Sounds a
bit like radio static.
