Upgrade from 13.04 does not appear to be able to upgrade to new
repository channels. I have checked the channels and am just now using
the default, still the same problem.

I'm using my MG8150 now without problems on 11.10. I did have an
original issue with the CUPS driver not printing but have now downloaded
the deb files from Canon and all is now working well. This is a long
post and I'm not sure if this has not been suggested. Ignore the
gutenprint files and try in
Atheros AR9170 usb repeats this issue (and work arounds).

Seconded. It would be great to crow 802.11 n for karmic simply by including the
files.
Also great for my Netgear WN111v2 to work out of the box as I obviously don't
have the same skills as Tom.

Okay now working. So after upgrade to Ibex:
Delete printer in System, Administration, Printer Configuration
Make directory ~/PDF
Reinstall Cups-pdf
Printer added back automatically in System Printer Configuration, now printing
to ~/PDF
note: capability dac_override now added in aa repository, ma

cups-pdf printer state "Stopped - Backend /usr/lib/cups/backend/cups-pdf

I confirm ~/PDF added by me
I also chmod +rwx /usr/lib/cups/backend/cups-pdf to match other backends, so
should exist and now be seen.
