It’s been a while since I have used Ubuntu.
The tablet style desktop turned me off to it.
If I install it again I’ll check this out.

The upgrade from 2.6.27-4-generic to 2.6.27-7-generic seems to have
fixed this problem.
If you're having this problem, make sure you run 'apt-get dist-upgrade'
which should install the latest kernel and fix the problem.
