Yes, "AlwaysRestartServer=true" works for me as well, even when I'm
using Xgl.

On my x200m with fglrx 8.34.8, enabling composite fixes the problem, but so
does preventing the kernel module from loading. Both steps disable 3D/DRI, so I
suspect that the root cause of the problem is having 3d enabled.
