You can download the libcdio6 Gutsy Package from here:

Install it and you can install the VLC. I hope a developer fixes the depencies
error soon.

I tried to install vlc on my new updated Hardy, but Synaptic said:
The package libcdio6 is not installable.
So I downloaded the gutsy-package over packages.ubuntu.com and installed it.
Now I am able to install vlc, but i have installed an old versio
If I push the button Interpret in Exaile(information about a song) the program
crashes and i have the
same bug.

If I start OpenOffice.org Draw on Ubuntu Gutsy Gibbon Tribe 5(GNOME+KDE),
for a few seconds I just see the window-frame and then comes
the standard crash message.
