I like the plain theme better than the tango themes. The theme seems to
be selected on purpose, there is a patch in the package that explicitly
sets the theme to plain. From the changelog:

The name should be pgfplots. The repository is for jaunty, so it might
not work up, when you use a different version of ubuntu. I have no
problems apart from the warning that this package is in a ppa.

Have you run apt-get update, to reload the package index?
It works for me here. Was there an error message?
I think the comment on the Debian Bug Report say that this package is
part of the TeX Live 2008 TeX Distribution and that there will be a
Debian Package when TeX Live 2008 is packaged, but
The corresponding Debian ITP mentions, that this package will be
included in Tex Live 2008. I had a package on review, but nobody wanted
to review it.
If you want to install it, have a look at my ppa:

Is it still a problem with 2.1.5-2?
If yes, can you check if /usr/share/ggz/modules/freeciv/civclient.dsc
exists? It seems that ggz-config has problems removing this module.

I also experience this glitch, and it is really annoying. I just
measured the time it takes, its almost 45 seconds. The Mouse moves,
music continues to play, but the screen is greyed out.
I also run Xubuntu Gutsy, upgraded via update-manager, and also the
