This is actually a problem in the kernel. Or actually in the p4-clockmod
module.
Applying a simple patch solves the scaling issue in p4-clockmod for
Celeron M's.
The patch involves only one line.
Please apply this patch in future kernel updates for Hardy.

According to
http://packages.ubuntu.com/hardy/text/freemind
Hardy ships with version 7.1 of Freemind. Hardy should ship with at least
latest stable version 0.8.
But better ship with latest 0.9 beta.
See bug #182927

Public bug reported:
I'm having troubles turning off the wireless adapter.
I have a Thinkpad T42 with ipw2100 wifi.
Normally pressing Fn-F5 toggles wireless on/off, but it doesn't work.
Tried doing this in terminal.
~$ sudo /etc/acpi/wireless.sh
/etc/acpi/wireless.sh: line 9: echo: write error
Yes, there is really an issue with the lid state.
If
cat /proc/acpi/button/lid/LID/state
always returns:
state: closed
whether laptop is closed or open, you have an acpi bug...
But g-p-m NEVER does dpms on when lid state = closed.
The bug is fixed in g-p-m 2.17.1, where you're able to set a gcon
Yes it might be a seperate bug. And still they are connected.
As I tracked down, due to other bugfixes, g-p-m ignores g-s idle events when
lid=closed !
Meaning if lid=closed you will never get a running screensaver nor will it ever
dpms. Only if lid=open it will dpms !!!
I get the problem when

No its not overheating.
My T42 freezed last time at just CPU 39°C GPU 46°C Wifi 44°C. Breezy
never did, and I have had much higher temps. If it should be a temp
problem Breezy should have the same. Fan speed on Thinkpads are
controller by the embedded controller, onless you turn it off with

Soo... now who IS looking into this?
Any external bugreports we should subscribe?
I just finished exams, and I am willing to test things. Any pointers where I
