libde265-0 actually pulls in a lot less dependencies:
https://packages.ubuntu.com/bionic/libde265-0
The dependencies on Qt, SDL, swscale are being pulled in by the examples:
https://packages.ubuntu.com/bionic/libde265-examples
libheif only depends on libde265-0 and thus doesn't pull in the whole
salsa.debian.org

Sorry, probably my request was not specific enough. I was aking about
importing the new version into vivid which currently has 0.9-1.
What you refer to is the version in Wily which was imported in July.

I'm using libneon for url parsing in an application that also links
against libssl (on the release version of 11.10). When linking my
application, I get the same error as above.
As a workaround I added the following to my application:
