I'm just an interested user, but I find the current maverick (packages
up to date) behavior counter-intuitive. It is possible I am alone in

everytime when run from menu, CLI or as a plugin in firefox. You can see
the "No video output" in the screenshot. Looking at the man page there

On Gutsy, selecting Visual Effects -> Normal, windows open with title
bars under the top panel. Although posters above note that Alt+Click or
the Compiz-Settings manager can be used to fix this, neither are
intuitive to the Average Joe user. In my opinion this cannot be
regarding as a Low priority
For me Suspend now seems to be working both from a logged in session and
from the login screen. This is with an up to date Hardy with Kernel:

Wired device in the Network Manager (Gnome). This now remains across
reboots, hibernates etc. When a Wireless network is active the
'wlan0_rename' device is the one which is active.

Apparently randomly, clicking on the red Quit button either presents the
Log out, Suspend etc. dialog correctly. Or at other times simply freezes
the screen. Exiting X from there with Ctrl + Alt + Backspace works fine

Following recent auto updates thought it would be useful to try the
debugging procedure again. See attached dmesg.log. This time the magic
number suggests an issue with resume.c but I don't know if this is true
or spurious. Happy to try anything else anyone wants in order to track
it down.
