I have tested the above code on my fully updated 10.10 32 bit system, and I

However, for many people this is not a good solution, because they need flash.
But for me its ok, I can use chrome when I need flash.

No, It doesn't work even when not suspending/hibernating.
A time ago I tried the stick in a mint system with WICD, and the problem
occured when fetching the IP adress from dhcp.
I then set it to manual, it show that it was connected, but I still didn't have
internet.

Hi there, I experience the same issue on two laptops (both 10.04).
There is no reason to show that notification when resuming from a suspend.
For now I just turned the disconnection notifications off using gconf, but it
would be nice to see a permanent fix.

Well, the the pciehp module was removed in jaunty, but pciehp.pciehp_force=1
for some magical reason still works, see bug 271019 (this fixes the weird
behavior of the SD card slots).

Had this bug to. It happend when I left a sd card mounted in the left slot.
Unmounting fixed it temporarly.
Then I installed linux-backports-modules-karmic and added pciehp.pciehp_force=1
to the kernel comandline (see bug 271019).
This fixed it.
