It appears to be an expected functionality when I exited without
finishing the configuration as Arthur said. Not sure why Ubuntu thought
it would have crashed and wanted to send a crash report.

This bug affects me too. Appears after upgrading to Ubuntu 11.10 from 11.04.
Tried the workaround and it didn't work in my vpnc version 0.5.3.
