I confirm this bug with an nvidia Geforce FX 5200 running the latest
proprietary video drivers in Dapper. I've found the easiest way to fix
it is hit CTRL ALT Arrow key to spin the cube.
The problem is that Xgl doesn't repaint the desktop or anything after the
screensaver deactivates so everythin
This is a problem with the old version of compiz shipping in the Dapper
repositories and with modual dialog boxes. This was fixed in compiz
upstream a long time ago. Syncing compiz to the latest version will
solve this bug.

This is fixed in QuinnStorm's fork of compiz with the organic scale
patch written by playerX on the compiz.net forums. This thread has a bit
