Possible fix or workaround - read the entire thread at
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1306789 - several options are
discussed, some of which worked on some computers. I haven't tried it
yet (I will after exams), but if anyone does, let us know.

There are a couple of similar discussions at

their suggestions yet (no time) but if anyone feels like doing so, let
us know how it works!
