The bug is still present in 280.xx drivers apparently, The only way to
fix it is to install 260.xx drivers, unfortunately they are not availabe
on the PPA (only latest drivers). The only way to fix this is to go to
Nouveau or install 173.xx drivers from "Additional Drivers". However,
the 173.xx dri
First, uninstall network-manager using SPM.
Make sure your computer is not connected to the internet.
Then, run wicd and connect to hidden wireless network.
This should work if you can't downgrade to 1.6.

I wonder if something is doing something about this problem, I still
have my machine suffering and crying to remove Vista from it but alas it
is the only OS that recognizes all its hardware and I bought all the
hardware not part of it.

After several research I found a way to install ubuntu on it.
I had to do a vga=352 acpi=off and noapic
But I would like these options that I turned off to function later on.
Is there a way to do that?

I am having the same problems with a similar machine. I read somewhere
that I should do it with noacpi mode. I am booting now at the moment
with this option and it is also taking so much time.
