I think I have the same problem. I have a Latitude 7390 with the WD15
Dock.
I get a connection to the Display Port and VGA but not to the HDMI Port.
I have connect my second monitor with HDMI, but it isnt working.

I retested bionic lubuntu alternate 20180401. This iso includes
"plymouth 0.9.3-1ubutu4". Note: this version of plymouth ends in ".4"
and not the ".3" version mentioned in comment #11.
When I reviewed the syslog from the install there are still errors with
the update-initramfs due to the missing
Lubuntu Bionic Desktop Daily 20180324 gets a bit farther.
Partitioning works (i.e. no pvs errors).
After this it crashes with various problems in the log.

Resolved for us also. Not the original reporter, but the update today
appears to resolve the issues we were having with our OSX machines. (One
OSX 10.9.5 and a few 10.11)

While there is a work around for this that works I would ask the devs to

MacBook Pro 10,2. The screen locks up, but the mouse is able to be
moved and seen moving, and interacting with windows and desktop elements
is stlll possible (eg if a video is playing with VLC, can press Space to
pause and resum
