I can confirm this for using Courier IMAP.
I was using the same setup for a long time using KDE 4 without this bug. After
upgrading to Kubuntu 14.10 this bug appeared suddenly for my IMAP accounts on
Courier servers.
Deleting Akonadi and all configuration and setting up the account again didn't

makes it only confusing for developers. I could live with this, if the
package would be a dependency of python3, so it gets installed

running Eclipse from the repos of Lucid is also freezing for some
seconds until it works again. Running Eclipse from the repos at 32-bit
doesn't have this problem.
