Just saw the other posts on my original bug report and thought you might
want to know I'm still seeing the occasional "stack smashing detected"
output before adept dies and I have to manually go and update things.
I have 2.6.1-1ubuntu9 of both libc6 and libc6-i686 installed at this
time.

I was finally able to boot with a Kubuntu Feisty disk due to issues with
the nvidia legacy driver (is my best guess) and repair the filesystem
and it had lots of issues. After the repair the packages upgraded
successfully and I was able to upgrade to the latest version of
everything as of this mor

trying to apply the available updates on my 7.10 beta install I'm
getting:

After rebooting, X refused to start (ie kdm also refused to start). I

gave me an error ab

Running the adept updater via the system tray icon and updating to the
latest releases for 7.10 beta, I noticed that when I had it showing me
details, I was seeing "stack smashing detected" warnings and then perl
was being aborted which correspond

apport told me artsd crashed and asked if I wanted to report it, so I
said yes. :)
This happened after a fresh reboot of the box and login, though the last
session was acting extremely weird on me and I was forced to kill X via
ctrl-alt-backspace.
I'm also using the fglrx driver, though I'm using the xorg-driver-fglrx
package, currently at 7.1.0-8.34.8+20.4-14.15.
Using the last supplied libGL.so.1 file I had gotten googlearth to work
yesterday, but with a warning that I was running in Software GL mode,
even though it was hardware accelera
