Public bug reported:
After installing libldns-dev, there is a pkg-config file at /usr/lib
/pkg-config/libldns.pc, however running "pkg-config --libs libldns"
doesn't find it. That's because Ubuntu's standard pkg-config directory
is /usr/lib/pkgconfig without a dash.
Please fix the package so that

Oh, just noticed that KOffice put out a new beta today. They obviously
tagged it a week ago already, which means that KOffice beta 5 will still
have the clash (and it will be gone in beta 6).

ok, I renamed the object-* icons in KOffice - still compatible due to
icon fallbacks - so the next beta release should not clash with core
Oxygen anymore. (And the kde-icons-oxygen package can keep its icons.)

package koffice-data-kde4 None [modified:

The "actions/object-order-back" icon which is the first conflicting file
that breaks for me does not originally exist in the actual
kdebase/runtime part of Oxygen. kde-icons-oxygen needs to have
externally provided icons removed so they can be installed by the
packages that actually contain them.
Er, I retract that analysis... while the original Oxygen doesn't have
those icons as scalable SVGs, the 16x16 versions (and only those) exist
in the icon theme. That is probably a bug, hopefully I can sort this out
for the final 4.2 release so that those will be gone from the kde-icons-
oxygen pack
The purpose of that service is to recognize when new video outputs are being
connected, and to call
xrandr --output $yourNewVideoOutput --auto
when that happens, i.e. to automatically enable the monitors that you connect.
You would want to enable it again when manually configuring your display(s)
You know, I'm really pissed. That KRandR kded module (aka "Detecting
RANDR (monitor) changes") is *not* in KDE proper but only in an
obviously unfinished working branch of the KWin lead developer, Lubos

Bingo! Disabling the KRandR service (in the "Service Manager" module in
System Settings) really does the trick - the cursor doesn't jump
anymore, and the video plays back fluently. I guess there's a downside
to disabling this kded though, isn't it?
Well I'm throwing a movie night tomorrow anyways,

Since I updated to Kubuntu Intrepid (which was about a month before its

Nope, when I first updated I couldn't log in from the start. After a few
unsuccessful attempts to boot the 2.6.27 kernel, I settled on 2.6.24 and
only found out through this issue that the lockup actually only happens
sometimes. So, no. Pure random race condition, it seems.

I get this error on an HP n6320 (iwl3945, too) and booting works if the
firmware (iwlwifi-3945-1.ucode) is not present. Once I put it into

described above.
