Christopher i meant 14.10, somewhy when i added the ppa before this updated it
wanted to remove compiz core and unity...
its fixed now with this update, memory usage seems stable at around 60mb and
flickering is gone but i did notice something strange when i minimize a window
the memory goes up
A new driver has been released so i decided to test it (NV 343],
fresh install no patch = bugged & unusable.
ppa added = outdated, cant install.
Christopher could you please update the ppa so it works with 14.10 please?
Also this bug needs to be tagged critical or something, the drivers on the

nv 340.24 is the lastest long lived driver so im expencting it to land
on the archives soon...

from the last comment to this one ive experienced no issues at all with the
patched compiz.
flickering is gone like before and no freezes, had a feeling the freezes were
from the driver and not from the patch.
have dota 2 open + google chrome with 10 tabs + minecraft
all working smothly.

A new driver has been released (nv 340.24) today.
Been trying it out for about 3h, did a fresh install fully updated and driver
manualy installed.
so far with no patched compiz the flickring is very minimal, only
happens one in awhile and fixes itself very fast.

i managed to add the folder with "sudo nano /etc/samba/smb.conf"
but then it wont allow me to create a user with "sudo smbpasswd -a " keep
getting acess denied on the other machine trying to login.

my compiz is using 307.9MB right now, ive seen it reach more then 400MB.
theres really something wrong,
also i noticed that wehn using nouveau at boot memory is 50mb, and if using
nvidia drivers at boot memory is 150mb+.

windows with the new live resizing if i go slowly the window blinks dark and if
you go really slow and stop when it blinks black, you can get the window to
stay black...
