This bug affects me too. I lose date/time from time to time. :P Using
Lenovo g505, Ubuntu 13.10 out of the box. All fixes I tried were
temporary.

Don' think so. There are certain applications in Ubuntu that have their
own "logic" of displaying menus and items (e.g. firefox or open office)
and don't completely obey to the theme rules. However, the change is
always unform, can't vary from menu to menu, from page to page. This is
not the case w
I forgot to add - it affects "Mail Preferences" only. Other (contact,

When using "New Wave" appearance theme, Evolution preferences look

I can confirm that this bug is also present in 9.10 release. The driver
rtl8180 won't go into ad-hoc mode. Either you cannot change it with
"iwconfig mode ad-hoc" (reports busy) or when enabling the device with
"ifconfig wlan0 up" says "operation not supported" with ad-hoc mode
installed.

It doesn't work for me either. I have Realtek rtl8185, driver rtl8185,

I experienced the same symptoms as the original poster, but it was the
BIOS setting that caused Ubuntu to freeze/behave odd! In BIOS there's a
setting about onboard graphic card initialization. Change it from
"always onboard" to "PCI", even though you don't have another graphic
card!

I disagree.
This problem needs to be FIXED, it's a disgrace for gnome games team. I
mean, come on, two gigs of RAM, 2.7ghz processor and I simply can't play
Tetris(!) with fancy tiles. It does not make any sense, the game is
probably badly coded/optimized.

Well, I posted the bug #174809, but what geeknik last said, it really
does sound similar. Although I think it has something to do with
previewing photo/picture files. I don't know if I'm right though.

Hi
Yeah ok, but no matter what, nautilus is acting like that, with less
memory without valgrind.
Nautilus probably caches the previously seen previews of photo/picture
files so it can display it faster the next time you visit those folders.
That can be logical enough, but why doesn't it flush the cac
Ok, thanks. I did like wiki told me. Although, Nautilus does not crash,
it just fills up the memory space. I played with it for awhile. Seems
like it pumps the memory usage when showing previews of picture/photo
files. I managed it to go to 206mb.

Quick update: I just noticed that Nautilus eats the memory when I open
directories and folders. The more folders/files I see, the more memory
it will use. However it will not revert back when I close everything.
It's like it remembers everything I visit. Unfortunately, even if that's
a "feature", I

Confirmed here also. I mistakenly deleted menu icon of TvTime program. I

As a matter of fact, I think this bug is at least one year old. I
remember I had similar problems in Breezy.

Totally agree. I'm using 7,10 ubuntu with compiz on default settings. All tango

It happened so long that I forgot the problem. I think it was Edgy...
because Feisty wasn't released in that time.

I can confirm this (Edgy final). The bug is quite strange.
It goes like this. Suppose you play one song in the background.
If you slide the volume slider to the bare minimum, the speaker icon
will change to "mute" and the "mute" will be checked in menu that
appears when you do the right-click on
I can also confirm this, though I cannot use ltmodem found in restricted

they cause the machine to hang the moment I try the dialing.
