This issue has been solved for me.
Despite not having loaded Windows in months, somehow the Alienware FX
settings changed while in Linux. I have no idea how as I do next to
nothing with the Windows partition.
When I booted to Linux today, a lighted zone that has been shut off for

Mangler "seems" to stay up longer if I do not use it to transmit my
voice, but use it to only listen, though it does still crash. Crashes
happen 1-5 times an hour, most often when I key to speak, but not
always. Sometimes the Mangler window 'grays out' and it will state that

Prior to the "upgrade" I had used this code to convert MP4 to MP3:
ffmpeg -i Some-File.MP4 -vn -ar 44100 -ac 2 -ab 192 -f mp3 Some-File.mp3
And it worked perfectly, zero complaints.
Today, after last night's upgrade of only ffmpeg packages, it no longer
works... I tried it again on the same file
It is the same for me on Kubuntu Hardy LTS. When trying to request the
upgrade, I get "BREAK (upgrade)". Only a minor irritation that Adept
Notifier remains in the system tray and to determine if there are
updates I have to hover the mouse over it.
Hopefully it will resolve itself soon. :-)

The Boot Log in KSystemlog states that there no file 'boot.log' in
