The solution from wvengen does work perfectly for me. I also have a macbook pro
5.5 and at the moment I'm running Ubuntu 13.10. My Nvidia Driver at the time of
typing is 304 but I will try 319 soon.

So i had the same Bug on my MacBookPro 5,5 running linux Mint 15 based on
Ubuntu 13.04. I use BCM4322 [14e4:432b]
I think I managed to solve it by installing bcmwl-kernel-source
6.30.223.30+bdcom-0ubuntu3 in amd64 (Release) from this page :

Well this is not a bug fix, but a workaround if you want to use multiguestures

I'm relativle new to all this, but I think I have the same Bug under 12.10 with
the nouveo driver, because when I switch to the properitar nvidia driver the
backlight control works also fine after suspend.

Hi I have 12.10 and when I'm triying to run ginn on my macbook pro gen 5,5 i
get the same "error subscribing to gestures" as anybody else. The are no
processes containing the word ginn running in the background and I also tried

The bug effects me as well under 12.10.
Rhythembox crashes when syncing to my ipod touch 2gen. I can also not sync the
SD Card in my android handy. But I dont know if this is the same bug or another
problem.
