This bug is about Ubuntu dealing with bad DNS servers that don't understand
(IPv6) queries. Before claiming this isn't fixed, please make sure that
bad DNS servers are in fact the issue. If disabling IPv6 lookups in
Firefox fixes the issue, then you are dealing with this bug. If switching

Public bug reported:
This is on a HP 6735b. After the proper login credentials are entered,
the login sequence starts, but hangs partway though. The sound starts,
repeats part of it several times, then stops.
ProblemType: Bug
Architecture: i386
Date: Mon Mar 1 18:09:17 2010
DistroRelease: Ubuntu
Public bug reported:
This happens on both Alpha 2 and 3. The hang is after login credentials
are accepted, at the tail end of the sound that plays. The last second
or so of the sound repeats a few times, then stops. I cannot get to a
virtual console.

This is fixed in Karmic for me on my 6735b, though I still have issues

I get this on my 6735b, but i386, both in Karmic without the flgrx
drivers, and in Jaunty with them (can't remember Jaunty without). I
think this is the right place to complain, and if more information is
needed let me know.
