Ok, so after a bit more documentation I have learned that usplash seems
to be replaced by plymouth in ubuntu 10.04. Normally you shouldn't have
to install usplash, but that doesn't justify those dependency errors,
which should be fixed.

umm, am I the only one that gets these awkward error messages when trying to
