Andrej, I have the same problem with my BenQ (=Acer) scanner. https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/sane- backends/+bug/85488/comments/40 works for me, but not always.. Sometimes it looks if nothing happens and then, after a while (5-10 minutes) the scanner starts!!! I'm using xsane sc
